Today, my body loving begins again. My poor little self, all full of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, gets so tired and cranky. It's the food, I tell you! The brown rice is cooking, the zucchini is prepped to be cooked, the protein shake for breakfast is just waiting for me. Whole foods, people- food without wrappers. I'm on board.
My goals:
Avoid having to buy a new wardrobe due to mismanagement of menu choices.
Feel better
Save dollars
-----------------------------
Do you feel like I make a similar declaration every few months or so? Sheesh. Me, too. Maybe I will start a separate blog for food tracking/health reporting so nobody who just wants to know about my dogs and stuff has to read about the food I eat. Or maybe I won't do that. For TODAY, though, the menu is this:
Breakfast is a yummy shake:
Soy yogurt
OJ
Strawberries
Vanilla Protein powder
-Blend it all up and drink it down!
(and maybe some toast)
Lunch:
Brown Rice
Zucchini
Snacks:
Apple
Baby Carrots
Whole, raw almonds
Whatever I can find in this house that will keep me from giving in to eating a hot dog at work
Dinner:
Mystery. I'm leaning towards a spinach salad with avocado and hard boiled eggs.
Let's see what happens!

Here's a link to Joan Osborne singing with them.

Today is Thursday
Maddie woke up scratching at around 6:00am. Actually, she wasn't scratching, she was licking. Licking sounds disgusting, though, so I censored it as if somehow, you would think I had anything to do with the licking. It is one of my least favorite noises....dogs licking. Ugh. I also woke up to the sound of Molly rearranging my laundry basket contents so that she could have a cute little bed to lie in. I suppose hopping up on mine like she usually does wasn't an option for some reason. Actually, I changed the story again. She doesn't hop up on my bed as much as she sits beside it and whines at me to lift her up and set her on it. You know why? Maddie blows a gasket if Molly jumps up. Maddie thinks she has to protect me from her on account of Molly always yelling at Maddie.
Maybe that weirdness, plus odd dreams, plus my evening last night contributed to me waking up uneasy. I have a gross feeling. There is nothing I can do about it, but I feel doomed. This happens sometimes. Someone, somewhere in my life will have a rotten day. Or I will. Or I have caused some situation that adversely affects someone I care about. I'm off balance. Maybe I need to take a walk.
In other news, perhaps you have read about this. The WBC has said they will protest Gunderson's production of The Laramie Project. Do I believe they will show up? No. However, I have seen declarations of retaliation pop up on facebook, and I wonder.....what is there to do that hasn't already been done? I am not one to say, "Give it up, kids. Pack it in and forget about it," but let's be reasonable. Showing them signs of your own isn't going to do much... I've seen groups against the WBC pick an organization that they protest, then set up donation buckets so that people can walk up and drop a twenty in to support what the WBC is trying to tear down, while they watch and yell hateful things. I don't think there is a solution, I'm just talking. Maybe someone else will have a better idea. In the meantime, I'll be wondering why we don't drag ourselves out to support that high school we love so much more often. How many of us go see a basketball or football game, ever? How many of us were raring to go see The Laramie Project at GHS before we read about the protest that may or may not occur? What I'm getting at, is if you are one of the people heading out to support Gunderson on the opening night of their play, maybe set something up that has nothing to do with the WBC. Something that you can stand outside and put your heart into even if they don't show up (and I don't think they will). I dunno. I'm on a break at work. This won't be proofread. Hope you all still love me.

I will feed you with rub downs
"We need to go online, find coupons, print 'em out, and make a frickin' GAME out of it."
-My mother
Dinnertime at our house has become something to look forward to. With the addition of 2 cousins, we actually eat at the dinner table. Cooking responsibilities have been split up between Nicole and I- Mondays and Tuesdays, she makes a meal, Wednesdays and Fridays are mine. Mother Margie can cook whenever she darn well feels like it, because she is The Mayor.
Last Friday, I forgot. It was my night for dinner, and I had taken Bella to Chuck E. Cheese's instead....so, I fed two of us, but failed to feed my mother. What. A. Heel. Ugh. Sometimes, I wish I could reverse and do everything properly, but I can't. In an effort to make her love me again*, I suggested some mother/daughter time in the form of massages at this small place I had visited with my main squeeze. We went, and laid down with community blankets spread over us, and got our bodies pummeled into boneless blobs. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and asked my mom, "So, what did you think?" (with a blissful smile on my face). My mom said, "Meh. I thought the place Bev took me for a massage was better."
Sigh. Oh, mother.
*My mother loves me. I get it. Any self deprecation is for story telling purposes only.

New Goal
One blog post per day.
They may not always be much, but I'm going to write every single day.
Ever since I have been out of the coaching world, I have noticed a drastic decline in my creativity. I never realized how much putting together routines or making up stunts or even rearranging the cheer room kept me even keeled. Out of my brain and into the world, Ideas.
Speaking of OGHS Cheer, I will be attending their CCS basketball game tonight. I'll be there with the fellow who bought me these for Valentine's Day:
You'll hear more about him later. He's the best.
Very half inspired
I cleaned my voicemail inbox today. There were 37 messages. All full up. Nobody has been able to leave a new message in months. For some reason, listening to voicemails as they come in is such a chore for me. Which is stupid, but there ya go. It has been so long since I have signed into my voicemail that I forgot which number to press to delete, so I had to listen to the whole first message to get to the options. It was from someone I used to spend a lot of time with, but who no longer fits in my life. Strange. Deleted.
A few messages were from a machine. Probably someone wanting the money I said I would pay. That's usually what "personal business matter" means. It's synonymous with "gimme those dollars, chumpenheimer." I'll get to it. I swear.
My favorite messages were from my best buds. I had 3 singing voicemails. 2 from Jess and 1 from Jenny. Jessica's voicemails are particularly artistic. Now that there is room in my mailbox, perhaps she will leave more for Nessacita. This is one song she sang to me:
Maybe I will call Jess today to sing to her.....mostly, though, she just says, "That hurts my ears."

It is morning time!
I have to leave for work in about 10 minutes.....currently, I am listening to Nicole ask Isabella, "Pants or a skirt?" to which Bella replies with a loud, goose-honk type of noise. Must be some type of game, because it's happened like 50 times, and still, every time Bella honks like a weirdo, I laugh out loud. LOL, for anyone not hip to the lingo.
Here is a picture of Molly being adorable:
