I write songs

...and this is one of them. The plan is to start singing them in front of people soon, so I'm sending this lil' guy out into the world. Might want to turn the volume down.

Creaks, moans and slow sighs

Wind on a warm night

No company where I lie

I guess unconditional gets tired

They'd all say "Hey there, wash that sunlight from your hair

Where've you been?

I mean we all like to feel alive

But baby, don't forget, he's not your friend"

I believed it enough to make it mine

Rode my faith like knobby knees on a bike

Lay it out naked 'cause I know you'll never try

To read anything I thought I shouldn't write

Alone, I wear you like a shield

And though you haven't got a clue

The dark is still more welcoming from behind the thought of you

I believed it enough to make it mine

Rode my faith like knobby knees on a bike

Lay it out naked 'cause I know you'll never try

To read anything I thought I shouldn't write

Titles escape me.

When the weather gets warmer, I go a little crazy.
I feel like things are just around the corner, and that time should turn faster so I can find whatever it is that I'm supposed to be getting into. It comes from running off to see dmb at every chance for the  past 7 summers. I can't help it. I'm a little bit beside myself, and only one thing makes it better. I don't know if I'll ever grow out of it.

While I wait for summer, here is a song I've been listening to over and over. Enjoy.

Have I done something wrong?

Sometimes Molly makes little crying/whiny sounds when I talk to her early in the morning.

I try not to get offended because I hate when she wakes me up, too.

Fur on the floor.

Saturdays are for friendship

Saturday was busy, let me tell you. Isabella spent the night on Friday, after she performed in OG's night rally with the cheer team. I didn't film it OR take any pictures. Bother! That makes me sad enough to eat lots of s'mores all day for no reason!

On Saturday, we went to Vasona for a picnic with Jenny and her fetus (who, I'm almost SURE, already loves his Aunt Vanessa). Then we played in the creek for a bit.

"Some" of us may have fallen in a tad further than "we" wanted to.

"Ugh."

We went on a train ride, we ate ice cream, we played on the big plane. All of these things remain undocumented for eternity.

We went to Santa Cruz with Aunt Marge that evening.

After dinner, we walked on the beach where Bella found oodles of shells. We enjoyed a piping hot funnel cake before heading home. Shell finding and funnel cake consuming were not documented, either, but of COURSE I managed to take a 3 minute video of a dang sea lion. What is wrong with me? these are moments frozen in TIME, people!! I'll remember better next time.

Little cousins love poms

I made her take a picture with me, but she also asked her two "favorite" cheerleaders to take a picture with her at Senior Night at OGHS.

Love her.

Sourpuss!

I read that lemon juice is great for your liver, as well as your skin. A glass of lemon water a day, especially warm/hot lemon water, will make your skin glow and your guts happy. So, I'll be partaking. Keep in mind that the juice that comes in the lemon shaped bottles has sulfites, so fresh squeezed lemon juice is best. Lucky for me the nighbors gave us dibs on their lemon tree.
I will let you know if my life turns around. I'm hoping for a big check from the lemon companies. This is some grade A endorsement. At least 5 people will read this! Internet gold!

I'm going to wallow for a bit

I'm almost done coaching. This year is my last, and we're getting down the the end. Out of 8 years, I made sure that this team would be the one I picked just because I liked the girls. I figured I could teach them to cheer, just as long as they are nice humans. One of the best decisions I have made. This team has been such a joy to coach. I might be going over the top, though. Placing them on a pedastal? I seriously think everything they do is precious, and that there will never be another team as good as this one I have put together.

(I think those things in my head. They will not know I like them until our banquet. Coach is no softy.)

As the year winds down, there are so many things I want to teach them, and I'm worried I won't get the chance. Cheer stuff, yes, but mostly how to use the correct form of certain words ("your" vs. "you're") Who will tell them that "Ima" (as in, "Ima miss you") is not a real word???? Who will harp on them when they send texts with horrible grammar ("Ey Coach- Ima be late because my sister can't watch my baby brother no more so I gotta be here at home but Ima be there soon like in 20 minutes")??? Ugh. I'm kidding, but I'm really going to miss them so much. We might not all have back tucks, but they sure are good people. I love these kiddos.

Notice I only have one blondie.

I'd post a lot of awesome pyramid pictures, but my external hard drive is not connected....You'll be seeing many more as June closes in, I'm sure.
