I know I'm not posting a lot of pictures here... I have an issue with having the same ones here AND facebook. Social networking is tricky, you know? It's like, don't mess it up....people might quit checking your life out from the internet!

Anyway, here are some pictures for you to look at. Trevor wore this into my job the other day. I think he likes me.

Blush and swoon.

He also enjoys yard sales and reading. I know- awesomeness overload. Such a crush on Trevor. BFF, for reals.

These are from the weekend...there was a show and a barbecue.

Deposit the money, give it all to the phone company....seriously considering going textless. Can I do it? I'm so very textual. I won't give up the data plan- yet.

Took a trip

I went to LA last weekend. I should have taken more photos so I'd have something to show, and I certainly should have taken at least ONE of Priscilla and I. I'm such a knucklehead. I drove down Thursday evening, we went to The Dresden Room, featuring Marty and Elaine nightly in the lounge. I stole this picture, but my favorite part of the place were these chandeliers.

I would love to get my hands on some of those.

The next day, Priscilla had jury duty. Top secret case. I can only tell you that I spent the day with this delicious little beast.

That is Callii. We spent time together. Then I walked to a bookstore and read for a bit, took a perfect nap, read some more.....it was a good day. Priscilla and I went to a lovely dinner, then for some lovely drinks with the lovely Audrey.

Callii begged for some pb&j.

And bit my finger like a real bff.

My arm is doing some stupid thing. I don't know?

I guess that's the end!

Edit: Priscilla took a picture of us.

Here is what I'm listening to...Right. This. Second.

Does it ever bother you when you see I have a new blog post, and it turns out to be some song I didn't even write and you've probably heard a million times? I sure hope not! And if it does, for goodness' sake don't tell me. I'm sensitive.

Anyway, that song breaks my heart. Begging someone you love not to let you down. Man. John.

They know

I decided to walk the dogs before work today. I didn't tell them, though, because it is best to wait until I have the leashes in hand. If I don't, they walk really close to my legs, tripping me and happy whining and shivering with anticipation until we get outside. I don't think they understand, "Wait until I brush my teeth!" (who am I kidding? I don't brush my teeth before early morning dog walks). ANYWAY, I didn't tell them. That's the point.

As I rolled out of bed, Molly started getting super pumped. Her ears were perked up and she was staring at my feet. When I started changing into real-world-not-just-bedtime clothes, the shivering started. Maddie caught on and did like 8 stand-up-stretch-sit-downs (one way dogs release tension/excitement). When I put my shoes on, they lost it. They knew. They ran to the door. We walked.

All of this is fine with me, I just wonder what else they know.

Time to make breakfast and lunch now.

Las Vegas

I think I have been to Las vegas 4 times since I started keeping a blog, but this past weekend was a SPECIAL trip. Dear Mother Margie turned 60 years old!

Here we are in the elevator in the airport parking garage.... Glamour (blogspot is telling me that glamour is not a word....am I spelling things incorrectly?).

We spent the day at Harrah's playing some games of chance. Mom did well. I did, too, as you can see.

Mom thought that she and I were going on a mother-daughter trip. What was REALLY going down is some of our family was meeting us in Las Vegas to ring in year number 60.

Around 8:30 on Saturday night, I peeled my mother away from the penny slots that she had been winning on all day to go "meet a friend who happened to be in Vegas." She fell for it, hook, line and sinker (fishing reference. Big fisherwoman here).

As we walked into The Piano Bar in Harrah's, I directed her towards the back of the room. It slowly dawned on her. She knew those people waiting for her. Happy birthday!!!

Hugs for everyone!!

Mom had a great time. She said it was her best birthday ever. I'm pretty proud of Bev, my dad and I for making it happen.

My dad's sisters also made it out to the party! Meet Aunt Sue and Aunt Beth.

We had ourselves a hoot. After the party faded and everyone wandered off to catch some shut eye, Mom sat down at a penny machine and hit a $1200 jackpot! You would think that would be the highlight of the weekend, but ohhhh boy, you'd be wrong! More on that in a minute.

The next night, Mom, Dad, my aunts and I went to Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill for dinner. Boy, oh boy were they in a tizzy there. Turns out TK was ON HIS WAY IN. Exciting news! They were preparing a secret side room for his entourage. And bringing in different food as opposed to the food they serve at the restaurant. Funny. Anyway, we dawdled as long as we could, and Toby hadn't made an appearance yet. Mom and I left to go find Bev, Ron, Chris and Nick on Fremont Street.

There is a zipline on Fremont Street. You start about 70 feet above everyone and zip over the crowd. My scaredy cat mother saw it and said, "We should do that. I'm 60!" So I said, "OKAY!!!" They have you sign a waiver, then you take an elevator to the 5th floor of a parking garage, where you get all harnessed up and step out onto some 65 foot scaffolding. The wind was aggressive that night, so we got to enjoy the sway of the scaffolding in the chilly Las Vegas night air. So romantic, really. We were hooked to the apparatus, and away we went!

Here is a video. The first one (on the left) is my mom. The second ones are Bev and I. I think the music is very fitting.

Happy birthday, Mother Margie!
