We left San Jose at 7:30 am. Shea, who had been a little barfy the night before (Trevor needs a new couch), slept for 5 hours of the drive. Score for Shea. She totally missed the part where Trevor and I worried that we may run out of gas in the middle of the desert. We made it, though! And discovered that my car can go about 45 miles with the gas light on! In our defense, the few gas stations that were supposed to have been along our route turned out to be bunk. Nuffin but some dusty ol' buildings and no petrol to be had. Eenywayz!
See that orange pitcher? That is for puke. It wasn't needed. She felt fine. Look how cool she sleeps:
Our first stop was Riverside, where we were picking Sydney up. We got to see her basketball game. Go Lady Bears!
Trevor taking pictures.
After the game, we loaded into the Mazdamobile and split for Anaheim. Along the way, we explained to Sydney that we could all earn Oreos for being brave or helpful. Or not puking. Just kidding. But earning Oreos was real.
Handholding while exiting the freeway at DISNEYLAND!! Shea- "How long do we have to hold hands? Can we hold feet?"
Our original plan had been to get to our hotel, eat, take it easy and begin our Disney adventures the next day. However, with the Tower of Terror looming right outside our hotel lobby, we couldn't even stand it! We busted out our 4 day park hoppers and got pumped for 3 hours of Disney night magic.
The girls had their first ride at the hotel, courtesy of Trevor and a stranded luggage cart. Wheeeee!
We rode Pirates first thing! We saw fireworks, rode King Arthur's Carousel, Autopia, The Jungle Cruise....It was divine.
Shea earned the most Oreos for bravery out of all of us.
We told the girls that if we got separated, find someone who works at Disneyland and they will take you to City Hall. Shea practiced being lost while Sydney and I grabbed a schedule of the shows. Then we headed over to try pulling out The Sword in the Stone. We all want to be King or Queen of Disneyland.
Worried that this might be harder than it seems.
We headed to California Adventure for some fun after a couple of hours in Disneyland.
Get it? Lower your head? Get it??? Look again. you'll get it.
^ What a couple of cuties ^
We went back to Disneyland to have lunch at The Blue Bayou. It was so nice. My companions had never been, so we asked for a seat by the water and really enjoyed ourselves. The food was yummy, the company was wonderful and the atmosphere can't be beat. One of my favorite parts of the trip.
Turkey legs during Fantasmic. We had front row seating.
It will take me a little while to post the following days- more shenanigans. MAN, we had fun. I miss it! Stay tuned =)
