Hi, everyone.....I'm coming into this post a little shyly because it will be one more post without any pictures. My camera broke some time ago, you see, when I dropped it while rocking out with Priscilla to Weezer, or something like them. It was a good night, but my poor, poor camera... I DO have a camera phone, but I mainly use it for my puppy photo shoots. You understand.
If I checked my last blog posting properly, I have been meat and caffeine free for two weeks. I have had a few Sprite slip ups. Carbonation has me by the soul. The first few days without caffeine, I was in bed by 7:30pm. My body was tired. The lack of Coke has made me realize just how much the food I eat affects my energy level. No cheating and eating something sugary and gross for breakfast, because I'll be lazy all day. I basically just try to eat fruits and vegetables for every meal, but lately, I've been doing a really poor job of it. My favorite thing to eat for lunch is brown rice with some sort of vegetable sauteed with a little bit of butter and a lot of lemon juice. Yellow squash is my favorite. Luckily, I work at 10am 3 mornings a week, so I can cook a lunch before I go to work. I'm not above leftovers from the night before, though.
Something that makes this round of vegetarianism easier is the fact that my boyfriend is also participating. Eating new (to me) food that he likes and avoiding meat is better when he does it, too. I mainly just say, "Um, I'll eat what you eat." Presto!
By bringing my lunch to work the past two weeks, I have saved about $15/day. I'm sure you also realize that vegetables and rice cost less than beef. It has made me more frugal in other areas, too, because I'm so pumped on not spending much cash on food. I enjoy a healthy bank account (or shoebox full of cash).
I think today might be the day carbonation takes a hike. The sugar is noooooo bueno, love it though I may. I'll check in again soon, lalas, and let you know how it goes.
